maxlikesound Even though this album is technically one of Xiu Xiu's more "normal" releases, I don't think any project embodies the term "post-punk" like this. It's genuinely weird, but also hooky and emotive. Jamie Stewart's vocals are both unhinged and heartfelt, showing how experimental music can resonate with you in ways other than screwing your brain up.

derek This was the first Xiu Xiu album i ever heard, and i loved it immediately and still do - along with basically everything else Xiu Xiu-related. Jamie Stewart’s music is fearless in virtually every sense. this music is beautiful, noisy, cathartic, and wonderfully unique. but most importantly, this music is HONEST. Favorite track: Over Over.
